Don’t be left in the dark when disaster strikes, invest in a variety of emergency lighting.
The electrical grid is not robust enough to survival basic natural disasters – think of all the times the power has died due to high winds, snowstorms or even a isolated car accident can take down power lines. Light is incredibly important when it comes to our emotional wellbeing. A lack of lighting can escalate our fears and make us feel unsafe. If we rely on daylight, it also cuts down on our time for useful tasks, especially in winter. In the midst of an emergency, no light can be extremely dangerous as we might attempt to evacuate an area littered with debris, glass and other materials.
There are different factors that will sway your decision making when it comes to what kind of emergency light source you prepare but as always – ensure you have at least one back up plan, just in case.
