There are many different brands of water filter on the market today.  They often have different capabilities and filtering potential.  You should always be aware, however, that many of them rely upon electricity in order to function.  Whole house filters generally fall into this category.  While life is progressing normally, with all the embellishments of civilization we are used to, these filters will help to provide you and your family with clean water.  Be aware, however, that many whole house filters are designed for use in an urban or suburban setting where the water may be chlorinated.  In this case, the filters usually will removed industrial pollutants, but will not be equipped to handle biological ones, because those will assume to have been eliminated with the chlorine.

This Filter Is Easy To Use

It is extremely easy to set up the British Imperial, all that is needed is to wash off the two ceramic ‘candles’ in water, install them in the top section of the filter, set this section onto the lower one and add water.  You should let two gallons go through the filter to begin with and throw this water out.  This first filtering is used only to remove any stray ceramic particles.  Once that has been done, you can fill the top section again and use the water that results.

The candles can be cleaned every week or two, depending on how dirty they have become and should be replaced after a year or two.  Cleaning the candles with a soft scrub will extend their useful life.  A British Imperial Water Filter can make all the difference between surviving a disaster safely or becoming sick with a water-borne illness.
