Depending on the nature of the disaster, mass casualties can be produced that can strain ordinary medical resources.  If hazardous materials, either chemical or biological, are involved the situation can be made even more difficult.  It is precisely for this type of trouble that the HMD Sked Stretcher was designed.  Maneuverability can be limited when wearing a Level A Suit, but the HMD Stretcher is easy to use even when completely suited up.  Constructed of tough polyethylene plastic, those patients who have been exposed to chemicals or biological agents can even undergo a preliminary decontamination while on the stretcher.  Because these stretchers can be stacked, and are reasonably priced, they are excellent when worries about numerous casualties are present.

Not only does the stretcher glide easily over the ground, but it can also be rolled up to take up no more than 9 by 36 inches.  If left flat, the stretcher measures 36” by 96”.  This is one of the most portable of emergency stretchers, as it weighs only eleven pounds.  The light weight of the individual HMD Sked Stretchers means that large numbers of them can be taken to the disaster site, whether it is an explosion, chemical spill, or an airplane crash.  Three wide straps keep the patient secure and the quick release clips are easy to operate even when wearing gloves.
